From announce at ntlug.org Thu Apr 16 13:40:36 2009 From: announce at ntlug.org (Low-traffic NTLUG announcement list) Date: Thu, 16 Apr 2009 13:40:36 -0500 Subject: [NTLUG:Announce] NTLUG Meeting, Saturday April 18, 2009, Batch Conversion Message-ID: <1239907236.29194.259.camel@geeko> Greetings, I honestly do NOT remember who had approached me a couple of months ago about presenting... whoever it was, now is an excellent time to remind me at cjcox which is at acm under the dot org. If we do not have a presenter, I'll share information about how to drive openOffice in batch using the pyUNO interface and about DC.py which is nice upgrade to the popular (but less than functional) DocumentConverter.py batch coversion program. DC.py allows you to batch convert Microsoft Office, etc. documents into formats more easily handled including HTML, openOffice formats, jpg, etc. We use this where I work with a wrapper recipe in PmWiki to handle uploading foreign docs and portraying/converting them into something reasonable. It's pretty cool stuff. http://pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/PmDocConvert 9am - whenever Linux Installation Project 10am - 11am Beginning Linux Training 11am - 12:30pm Main Meeting - Batch Doc Conversion (other?)
