From announce at ntlug.org Wed Feb 18 21:18:11 2009 From: announce at ntlug.org (Low-traffic NTLUG announcement list) Date: Wed, 18 Feb 2009 21:18:11 -0600 Subject: [NTLUG:Announce] NTLUG meeting 2/21 11am, Small and Powerful, the Elitebook 2530p Message-ID: <499CCF73.1050907@acm.org> Question: What is the size of a piece of letter paper, has 8G of memory, built in DVDRW and can play movies at full 1080p resolution? Answer: The HP Elitebook 2530p In a world of cheap and VERY slow netbooks, the Elitebook is different. However, different doesn't come cheap. I got my hands on a 2530p and installed openSUSE 11.1 on it... and just about everything works (except the finger print reader). If you need small and powerful... and you've got the money, the 2330p might be your ideal portable computing device. We are meeting at King of Glory Lutheran Church as guests of the North Texas PC Users Group. Directions are on the website at: http://www.ntlug.org/Main/Directions Room assignments should be available at the sign in desks. 9am - Linux Installation Project 10am - 11am Beginner's Group 11am openSUSE 11.1 on the Elitebook 2530p
