Howdy,
I have a a few idea on things I could demonstrate, if there is any
interest. I recently installed Arch Linux on a Pogoplug to (kind of)
replace the built in firmware. So, I now have a nice little Linux box
that is a samba server and it consumes 3 watts. I have another
machine I have not converted, so I could do that one live, if there is
a decent network connection. Would anyone like to see this?
My second suggestion may be old hat. I recently have been
experimenting with a Python library that handles the Linux inotify
callback mechanism. It allows me to watch a directory for changes,
without any polling. The Python program only gets called if there
were changes in the filesystem that it needs to know about.
My third idea is to show the cinammon desktop. I am not sure if I
would do it on Fedora 16 or Ubuntu 11.10. I have installed on both
this last week. It seems to work nicely, although it is setup
differently for those 2 distros. I am pretty sure it must be
something that can be configured, but I hve not figured it out yet.
If you have something else to show or talk about, jump in and suggest it.
Good day,
Ralph
