[NTLUG:Discuss] Anyone done ORACLE on LINUX yet?

All: 

I'm kinda tearing my hair out here. We have the ORACLE 8.0.5
database for LINUX in-house (it was a *bear* to get it via FTP ...
~200Mbytes!). 

Tonite/this morning I attempted an installation on SuSE 6.1 LINUX. 

I got a number of fairly obscure error messages .. I'm sure the
installation
failed. 

Question to the group: has *anyone* successfully gotten ORACLE 8.0.5 to 
run under *any* distribution of LINUX? I *could* switch to REDHAT 6.x
but I *really* like some of the SuSE features (YaST: the installation
program, along with the X configuration stuff, is really nice).
