Kelly,

Did you use the Xconfigurator to setup your monitor?  You have to make
sure your monitor has the correct horz/vert values to match up to the
correct mode lines.  My preferrence is to use the XF86Config (or what
ever name the GUI version is) to do my setup.  I also only configure
my system to allow 1 mode so I don't play around with switching modes.
