[NTLUG:Discuss] Primary slave drive to primary master drive

Billy,

One thing to check is your /etc/fstab file, and possibly your
/etc/lilo.conf file. As the slave drive, it had disk device names with
/dev/hdc (or maybe hdb) at the front. As the primary, those will now
have the /dev/hda prefix. If those 2 config files have the wrong
prefix, that would account for your problem.

You can fix it by putting it back in your old system, changing it, then
bring it down and move the drive; or boot with an emergency boot disk in
the new system, mounting root at /mnt, and fix it there.

There may be other reasons for this, but this is the first thing that
comes to my mind.

HTH,
Kevin
