[NTLUG:Discuss] Linux Demo Day 99

The NTPCUG appears interested in having a Linux demo at either their main
meeting room (which can hold about 200 people) or near the vendor area. I
stressed the need for a no-cost solution. The idea will be discussed at
their board and officer meetings Thursday and next Tuesday.
The type of demo/presentation will probably depend on location. A main
meeting slot of 1.0 to 1.5 hours would permit a general introduction to
Linux, while a spot near the vendor area might have repeated, short demos.

Certainly. Look at what Kathleen Weaver is going through at Hillcrest.

This could be of great benefit to the PC club. Most of them have no real
idea of what Linux is, and have no easy way to find out. We are the easy
way for them to find out. And perhaps to change their homes and possibly
workplaces to include Linux and stable networking and stable applications.
For NTLUGers, David says it all a couple of paragraphs up. Not all of us
know how to network a Microsoft OS box and a Linux box.
