Your in luck-I just encountered a similiar problem with a friend when
trying to play SC with him on battlenet-I have a registered copy, and he
has a demo-i downloaded the demo to be able to play him...the problem is
that the demo is based on the 1.01 version of starcraft-I have the newest
version patch for my registered version-1.05, and it works fine...I am
using IPchains with my
cable modem, and 1.01 will not allow any NAT...I fixed this by using
IPautofwadm-and forwarding the port (can't remember what it is, look it up
on battle.net or blizzard.net), works great now...just make sure you have
the port forwarding support compiled in your kernel.
