Given this discussion I have an idea (ouch that hurt) for NTLUG. Given the
level of security knowledge here (not mine) could NTLUG establish a service
where they could test the security of a system for a reasonable fee. A
business or individual would request a security test of their system and
NTLUG would assign the job to someone in their official (non advertised) list
of security testers. NTLUG could qualify (hey we've got a RH certified type
person) the testers so that we know they can do a good job. NTLUG could
split the fee 50/50 with the tester. I have a feeling that the new company
could generate some pretty good dollars off this. We could then put the
proceeds towards our own technical conference.
