biff is (i believe) the program telling you about this new mail.  if
you don't want the mail, just delete or empty the file in /var/spool/mail.
make sure you don't have a "MAILTO=" line in your /etc/crontab -- i'm
guessing that's why you have new mail in the first place.  i think you can
turn biff off, but i don't recall how to do so.  not having a program to
view mail is somewhat inconvenient, but you can always view your mail
spool file with less (or you favorite editor).
