Yes, indeed; just got in from DFWUUG meeting, and had a chat with the
VA rep.  He'd be glad to loan hardware; I mentioned that the status 
seemed to be a bit up in the air.

If the Best Buy idea is "out," is anybody close enough to Fry's
(geographically/knowing-contacts-wise) to see if one of their locations
would be alternatives?

After watching my newly-retired dad spend two weeks learning how to make
a new folder, it became obvious that "intuitive" mostly means "what the
writer or speaker of intuitive likes." (Bruce Ediger, bediger at teal.csn.org, 
in comp.os.linux.misc, on X the intuitiveness of a Mac interface.)
