Kathleen,

As I upgraded to SuSE 6.2 today (hurray!) I noticed
that YAST has the facility for saving configurations.
If you haven't noticed it, the explanation says it's
for creating a common setup for loading on a number of
computers where the software load is to be the same.

This might simplify your life a good bit.
