Depends on if you want to be able to access the other machine's
filesystems as if they were "live" (as opposed to, say, using ftp).  NFS
isn't a requirement if you've networked your Linux boxes together.  But
if you plan on using lots of files from the machine other than the one
you're logged in on, or want to run apps across the network, NFS will
make your life much easier.
