The basic problem is that Tech overreacts to the supposition that new students
will have trouble adjusting. This class is veritably pointless. I'd much rather
get a "no mail" indicator and not have to bother with PINE (which is the mailer
I use, by the way) than receive "you have new mail" and wade into PINE just to
find a message about how some student group I'm not even remotely interested in
is having their annual basketmaking contest under` the student center fountain
next July... I do get important mail on that account (CS class, for instance).
I understand your point, though. And I do take most of my classes quite
seriously. That would be all of them except for HPS1040 and PSY1000.
Plus I'd like to learn procmail :)

I'm using PINE under a Solaris shell. Actually, I like it quite a bit. Its
interface is efficient and it works reliably, which is more than I can say for
Netscape...
