- Alan Cox said something recently about the Linux tcp/ip stack having
- been totally rewritten from scratch; and, iirc, he denied that it had
- ever simply 'come from' *BSD. But I don't remember the details.

As I recall, the Linux TCP/IP stack as been rewritten at
least _3_ times. And you're right, the BSD TCP/IP stack could
never have been directly incorporated into the Linux kernel,
since so many of the kernel structures were different.
However, outside of the interfaces and kernel structure, I would
bet that the original TCP/IP stack might bear a strong
resemblence to BSD Net/2.

- What userland networking code do you have in mind?

	Little things, like telnet/telnetd, ftp/ftpd,
rlogin/rlogind, etc.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today. There might be a
law against it by that time.
