[NTLUG:Discuss] Newbie w untamed Samba

I hope this is the right spot for a problem message.  

I have a mini-home network with an Intel PI (200 mh) with Linux (2.2.9-19mdk) and Samba (1.9.18p7) networked with PII (W98).  Pings work both ways but PC client is unable to perform Diagnosis.txt Test 8 (net view \\BJDLinux).  It returns a Error 86:  Specified network password is not correct etc.  I cannot find the inconsistency.  Help is appreciated.

As a result of this experience I have some ideas about the requirements for a Samba Handbook.
