Alternatively, 'make zlilo' will do the last 3 steps for you.

If you want to test the kernel first (i.e., make sure your box will
reboot), you can do 'make zdisk' which will copy the kernel image to a disk
in /dev/fd0.  That way, if something catastrophic happened during the
build, and your box doesn't boot with the new kernel, you still have the
old kernel to fall back on.
