You didn't install chkfontpath-1.4.1-1.   You would find it in /usr/sbin.
(hint: use locate instead of find)
I think it would be better to edit fontpath in XF86Config.

Well, my SuSE 6.2 machine doesn't seem to have chkfontpath:

  % su
  # find / -name chkfontpath -print
  #

..nothing!
