This email address is malformed, obviously.  It shouldn't have the @ sign
in front of that.  So, you gotta ask, where is qmail getting it?  
Make sure you formatted the first line of .qmail-brian correctly.

If it is formatted correctly, you might try removing the & and trying 
again.  Qmail should recognize it as an email address anyway.

For all practical purposes, you can't login to retrieve mail without a 
username and password.

They have to log in as laiken002, with whatever password you assigned
that username.
