Make sure the built-in modem is not a "winmodem"! If it is, it
won't run under Linux. What does the unit weigh, and how much
will you be schlepping it around? If you could stand the extra
weight, I'd recommend a 15.1" screen. I've got a 15.1" TFT XGA
laptop that I'm thrilled with. My machine uses the ATI Rage Pro
chip set. You might have some initial problems getting XFree86
to work, but persistence paid off in my case. As Juliet Blosser
says, the "Linux Laptop" page was a real help.
