My posting of this is prompted by Mark Vaughn's excellent posting in this
group, this weekend, of the URL to the following Micro$oft/ CNBC
pro-Linux article (Thanks, Mark.):

Several fine responses to Micro$oft's "myths" about Linux, have recently

I also recently came across an excellent article, a "Practical Manager's
Guide to Linux".  Written by an EDS employee from Australia, the article
greatly interested me, because it was written to evaluate the OS'es from
the business standpoint -- purchase (!) costs of the systems, training,
other software availability, usability on existing, and older, hardware,
etc.  That article is at (Caution -- a mildly-lengthy download, appx. 1
