There is a new ISP startup in Denton Tx, that should be going
online within the next few weeks (depending on GTE's lag in getting the
fiber MUX installed), and they asked me if I could help em track down a
Linux/UNIX technical admin type for the project, and I figured there might
be a few Linux junkies on this list :). All user-support is being
out-sourced, so basically, they just need the following:

Intermediate(ish) Linux/UNIX Admin experience/knowledge (IE: you don't need
to know everything, but you need to have a "clue" (tm), and know how to
use it to figure out the stuff you don't know. It would be nice (but not
required) if you already had a handle on qmail, apache, bind, xinetd,
proftpd, and basic security issues). Programming skills not required, but
you do need to know what to do with a tarball containing source code and a
Makefile. :)

Basic NT skills (for the billing system and FrontPage junk).

Routing TCP/IP with Cisco routers (the = to what they teach in
Cisco's 4 day "Intro" class)

A good understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, and how to
troubleshoot problems relating to said, etc.

It would be nice to have some/all of the following, but by no means
required:

VOIP, h.323, ATM, ISDN (BRI and PRI), Telco issues (termination
equipment), C, advanced shell scripting, advanced Cisco, etc.

Work environment is very laid back (no dress codes or other
silliness of the like), and the boss is an easygoing type, who doesn't
like to meddle in the affairs of technical folks (assuming they're keeping
everything running properly, and show up for work and such :).

Salary depends on experience, + bonuses and other arrangements can
be made depending on what you want/what you're worth.

Anyhow, my name is Adam, and I'm not directly affiliated with
these folks, although I am going to be part of the crew that does the
ground-up setup once GTE gets their act together, and I am helping them do
resume screening. If you're interested, e-mail me something resembling a
resume (ASCII text preferred :) Cheers!
