It should be the same for every distro. You probably need scsi generic
compiled in.
Why I'm really writing though is to say, IMHO XCDroast sucks. Use
cdrecord. It works every time. I've never had any problems with it and
from the sheer number of CD's I wasted with XCDroast, there's no incentive
to ever try it again.
