Geez, give Maximum Linux some credit!  They're trying to appeal to the vast
majority of pc users - young, male, game players with "hot-rod" machines, who
could not care less about "serious linux magazines".  In the issue I looked at
there was a whole redhat distribution with step by step instructions for setting
up Quake - quite a good buy for $7.50.

Both magazines appear online the following month, but Linux Journal does not put
everything online.

Just as a small followup:

If one only had the funds to get a subscription to Linux Magazine or
Linux Journal, which would be the better?
