[NTLUG:Discuss] How do I "set -o vi" in gnome-terminal (Redhat 6.0)?

Are they a real "xterm", or some new flavor of "terminal" program? If
the later, then my guess is that you're restricted to whatever Gnome
allows you to configure (and you might be out of luck, but I really
wouldn't know as I don't use Gnome). If the first, then I'm really
suprised you're having this problem. If it's really not a true "xterm",
try using that instead.
I use KDE sometimes, and avoid their terminal for the real xterm. If
you're having problems with xterm, then make sure it's started with the
"-ls" arg, or the proper resource which does the same thing, to make it
a login shell. Also, it might just be a shell thing; make sure your
$ENV is "~/.bash_profile" (or ".bashrc" or whatever).
