i delete that annoying little message everytime i see it!
the way i have my inbox set up (in PINE... i use mutt now) it was always
at the top and perpetually visible and simply taunting me each time i
read my mail.
i deleted him and had no issues (that i knew of.) it's fully possible
that i *did* have issues but i didn't have the knowledge or wits to
recognize. IOW, it didn't affect my mailreading. :-)
i agree with cameron that it does appear to be created when you pop your
mail... however, i think there are other ways that it can be genereated.
i used to be afraid of it. i deleted it and now i'm not. :-)

: Greg,
:
: You've got more guts than I have. I have a similar message that appeared
: while running Netscape. It has been hanging around in my Inbox for nearly
: 2 years and I haven't had the courage to delete it. Do you see any
: problems now that you have deleted it?

: It will be interesting to see what we learn.
