Chapter 6 of Philip Greenspun's book on Web publishing:
http://photo.net/wtr/thebook/images.html
discusses Kodak Photo CDs. He uses ImageMagick (correct name?) as I recall
to view and edit the files. BTW, I think his book is the best that I have
ever read. He is an incredible web designer, provides lots of free web based
services, like and uptime monitor for web sites, a web available version of
Power Point (called Wimpy Point) which lets one construct presentations on
his site and then present them at any location that has internet access. He
is also an excellent photographer and writer.
