Actually, I have found that some jpeg files cannot be read by XV - but
GIMP manages to read them OK...I guess that XV's jpeg reader is just a
little out of date.  Reading such images into GIMP and then just writing
them out again seems to fix them so that XV can then read them just fine.

I found this from some images created as texture maps in some Windoze
package or other....dunno whether it would ever be a problem with
Photo-CD JPEG images.
