Boot into BIOS and see what it tells you the disk size is.  If it doesn't
see the correct size you can tell BIOS what you cylinder, head, and sector
values should be.  Older BIOSs use disk type 47 (IIRC) and most newer
BIOSs will just let you enter the values.  This should resolve BIOS's
problems seeing the drive.  As I understand the 2.x.x kernels, as long as
BIOS can see the disk Linux can see the disk.  But if BIOS sees it and
Linux doesn't read the large disk How-Too which will give you the command
line info to add to LILO to make the kernel see it all.
