Greetings,

this is a query to the group in general concerning local certification programs associated with System Administration.

After doing the tour of the local vendor training (i.e.
SUN & HP, etc), community colleges and then universities I am asking opinions of one program in particular. This would be the SMU UNIX System Administration Certification through the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

I understand this falls again under the moniker of "Adult Continuing Education. That means just the certificate and no credit for a degree. Again this is a similiar program like the Cisco and MSCE career track.

Any informed experience with graduates or associated
employers that can expand my knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Please, direct experience is appreciated.
I hope to avoid spam on opinions of the value vs lack there of! I hope you understand that part!

Regards!

Frank!
