[NTLUG:Discuss] re-exporting NCP thru NFS

I have encountered some odd problems trying to interface
an OLD SYS V Unix system to my Novell Netware 5 file server.

Although Netware 5 comes with a "free" NFS package, it is
worth about what you pay for it...... NOTHING

Here is my setup: My client is a Motorola VME Based Unix
System V computer. It does an NFS mount of a directory on
my Linux PC. The Linux PC is running RedHat 6.1. The
directory on the Linux PC is actually an NCP mount of my
Novell 5.1 server.

Here are my problems:

1) When my SYS V client computer creates a file on the server it
is not set up as shareable under Novell so it can't be
read by other Novell clients while it is being written
   from my SYS V client.

2) After writing ~32MB into a file from my SYS V client, I
copied a really small file on top of the 32MB file. The
32MB file was unchanged (basically the copy had no effect)

3) Tried the same thing as 2) above with an EMPTY file. This
also had no effect on the 32MB file.

Thanks,

George
