I'll second that--the book was one of the first
books in my Unix library.
Another outstanding book is 'Advanced Programmer's Guide to Unix',
Thomas, Rogers, Yates, ISBN 0-07-8812211-9.
The two above-referenced books, some system manuals, and
a well-worn keyboard will provide a very sound working
knowledge of Unix/Linux.
