[NTLUG:Discuss] 56K external modem recommendations

Can anyone toss me a couple of recommendations for a 56K modem.  My son
is going off to college and I'll be pulling his computer off my net at
the house.  I've got him ethernet access on my hub now.  I don't want to
spend a lot of $$$$ and Linux is a must as well as an option to use
Win98 :(  External and internal are options since he's got a surge
protector with a phone line plug.
