In addition:
The cardmgr utility recognizes the LinkSys and assigns a generic name to the
device, I don't recall the name, look in the config file for your card and the
name. Once you know the name, then just assign eth0 to that device name and it
should work.

If your distribution doesn't support the card, you could try the latest
pcmcia card services to see if it will support it. For info go to
http://pcmcia.sourceforge.org/. For source go to
ftp://sourceforge.org/pcmcia/. I have noticed that RedHat's distributions
usually don't contain the most current pcmcia support at the time they are
released they typically lag by several revisions. Of course, just because
the latest pcmcia release claims to support your card doesn't mean it will
actually work. You'll have to try it to see.
