The telco won't touch a Linux machine. On RH 6.x there are three files
to edit. This is what you will need if you have a static IP address.

/etc/hosts:
putyourpublicIPhere    yourusername.ispdomainname.tld  
analiasifyouwantit

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1:	or ifcfg-eht0:
IPADDR=putyourpublicIPhere
NETWORK=putyourpublicnetworkIPhere
BROADCAST=putyourpublicbroadcastIPhere
GATEWAY=putyourpublicgatewayIPhere

If you don't have a static IP I don't know what you need.
