So I'm thinking the Red Hat cert is really the one that has more
industry respect and name recognition.  It seems that it's more
difficult to obtain, which is appealing to me.

The difficultly aspect is appealing to me because, if a cert is more
difficult to obtain, you won't be considered to be "paper trained" as
much.
