[NTLUG:Discuss] X Server problem after I switched monitors

hi,
I have both a supported video card and a supported Monitor.  My display
adaptor is a Diamond Stealth 3D 3000 and my monitor (now) is a Phillips
Brilliance 107. I had the XServer configured with the monitor I had before I
replaced it with the Phillips. I just swapped out the monitors and XWindows
worked fine but I wanted to change my resolution. Now I can't get it back
up.
I have XF86_SVGA server installed. I tried loading the Phillips Brilliance
107 and CUSTOM settings for the monitor, I even tried to do the LET ME
CHOOSE OPTION for the resolution settings,  but I keep runnning around in
circles without successfully gettting XWindows up. Should I just try a
different video card?
