I think at this point all bets are off :) Seriously, LILO can be a
dangerous thing. The closest I ever got to the situation you describe
is during a RH6.1 install, the installer automatically assumed an
existing DOS/vfat partition was the "boot" partition (not /dev/hda1),
and proceeded to install LILO with the wrong partition. I couldn't
intervene (another argument against "canned installs"), and when all was
said and done, the NT loader could not be found. It *appeared* as if
LILO corrupted the MBR, when in fact it was simply configured
incorrectly, trying to boot off the wrong partition.
