I noticed that, and was afraid of that...  The thing that gets me is
there isn't a list, that I can find.  Also, the tools to deal with the
network cards are few are far between.

The through put issue is because of the ammount of traffic on the
network, not _just_ the fact that it is in promiscuous mode.  AFAICT
anyway...
