No - I was thinking of 'Plex86' (which was called 'freemware') - it's
supposed to be a GPL'ed VMWare 'alternative'.  I just wondered if
anyone had tried it.  I don't own a copy of Windoze - so I can't
test it myself and it would be nice to get some input before I
suggest it.
