[NTLUG:Discuss] LOVE REALLY SUCKS

I work for a local ISP and everyone is getting hit hard... Lots of
businesses around town have their emails shut entirely down... Luckily we
got a filter up fast and has been able to filter out thousands of the virus
emails... Unfortunately, lots of people already were infected or it sits in
their mailboxes awaiting their checking of mail...

I use WinBlows at work... and OutLook Express... and the only thing that not
opening the ILOVEYOU email does is avoids sending it out to everyone in your
address book... I didn't open it (it automatically previewed it) and all my
mp3z are gone... all my jpgs are gone... (as in renamed  to vbs and
unusable), my start page was changed to that BugsFix... and my whole view in
MyComputer is messed up...

I guess reformatting will be my project this afternoon... I've tried all the
fixes out there including all the registry edits and it keeps coming back :(


I've never gotten a virus before and all I have to say is THIS REALLY
SUCKS!!!! I wish nobody loved me or even LIKED me so I wouldn't have gotten
the dang thing...

For those of you who may be reading this list with a Microsoft product,
most notably Outlook, do not open the Visual Basic attachement.  as it
contains a nasty little Melissa-style (so I'm told) virus.  We got hit
fairly hard with this one at work early Thursday morning.
