[NTLUG:Discuss] hacker and firewall recommandation

Hi All:

I have questions.

Where is the hacker?
I heard that the hacker is everywhere, is this true?

I am going to subscribe DSL with static ip address and use it for web 
server.
the platform will be Linux + Apache, of course.
For the security reason, I think I am going to have
a fire wall built up. some one told that SonicWall SOHO
(website http://www.sonicwall.com/firewall/index.html)
is good in the lower price range wiht VPN feature. (at this monent,
I can not afford Sisco router)

Does anyone has better recommandtion?

How safe is it with this kind of firewall built?
