[NTLUG:Discuss] modprobe ppa says that parport is busy

Hello:

I just installed a fresh copy of RedHat 6.1a onto my Dell Inspiron 3500
laptop.
I have not done anything to the machine besides that.

During the install, I selected to install it as a KDE workstation and
everything went very smoothly.

I am having one problem:

I am trying to get my parallel port ZIP drive to work. According to
several messages that I read, I can type
  /sbin/modprobe ppa
to do it.

But, when I try it, I get an error message:
/lib/modules/2.2.12-20/scsi/ppa.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
parport: Device or resource busy.

I dont know what to do now.

Any suggestions?
