[NTLUG:Discuss] Connnection problem w/Caldera 2.4

I recently installed Caldera 2.4 E-desk on my laptop. The install went 
perfectly and the system is running except that I am unable to connect to 
the internet. COL 2.4 uses ksaferppp which seems to have some real 
problems. I get a time-out on the "chat-script".
I've increased the time-out value to 60 sec. and up to 90 sec. with no 
better results. Has anyone experienced this problem? Would someone please 
advise me as to a fix ksaferppp? Can I and how do I set up & use kppp? Thanks
