[NTLUG:Discuss] RedHat 5.2 glibc problems

Has anyone out there tried to re-build glibc-2.0.7
from the rpm on the RedHat 5.2 CD-ROM? I just tried
and failed. When I ran configure it warned me that
I really should have linuxthreads & crypt but it would
be OK if I didn't. I looked in both the binary and
source rpm files but couldn't locate a match for either
package....

Once I tried to compile I got an undefined for __libc_enable_secure
in tzset.c It appeared to be due to the fact that tzset.c
didn't #include <unistd.h> so I fixed it. Now one of the link
steps is complaining about an undefined reference to __libc_cleanup_end

any ideas?

George

P.S. I can't upgrade to a later distro due to some old vendor software
that I am using.
