[NTLUG:Discuss] MS Advertising Linux!

Actually this isn't that surprising. MSN's site isn't as strictly
controlled as the official Microsoft site is for propaganda and is more or
less treated as a separate entity. Despite MSFT's public stance on Linux,
internally, many of the employees have a very favorable opinion of Linux -
some even run it on Microsoft's internal network and still others have Linux
servers at home that they play with on a regular basis. I have several
friends who work for Microsoft both here and in Redmond that have told me
these things much to my surprise.

I've also heard some other stories from them that I'd like to verify... such
as the stories about Microsoft's enterprise mail system is not running their
own software (Exchange) but is instead a heavily modified version of *BSD
that they've gone through great lengths to make appear to be an Exchange
server. No one I've spoken with in the company can verify this but say
they've heard stories about it being true. I've also heard a similar story
about the www.microsoft.com web site being run on *BSD servers as well.

Anyway, sorry if this was off-topic, just thought about it after reading
that article.

An MS buddy sent me the following limk. Not a bad article, IMHO.
Now where is the scam? I'm an old man and thought I knew all of
the scams, but I don't see one here. However, I wouldn't have
thought that I would have lived to see this happen, either!
