Have you spent some time with it?  Until you do, don't judge.  It's a nice
little language to introduce high school kids to programming.  Tons better
than Qbasic -- I've been there with Qbasic and each year the kids hated it
more and more.   I'd have probably quit if we hadn't gotten Visual Basic
when we did.

If anything else, the stuff the kids try out on their own get better each
year since we got Visual Basic.  And all the basic structures are there
that C++ has.  I almost hate to take kids back to Borland C++ 3.0 from
Visual Basic, and the later version of Borland (Insight now) Compilers that
we own are difficult to use.
