Well, we were not able to get Dug Song, Linux VPNs, as originally planned
for this Saturday....sorry.
As a backup, I've got one of the ITEC presentations ready for the
conference. The presentation is called Software Slavery (recently
renamed to The Puppet Show). It's a talk about how the SW industry
through various means gains control of IT decision making for
individuals and corporations.
We will also discuss current ITEC plans and the volunteers will want
to meet together on Saturday right after the main presentation to
determine assignments and responsibilities. Last year at the
Texas Technology Showcase, the NTLUG booth got the lion share of
traffic!! The ITEC will be even bigger and give us a huge opportunity
to talk to people about free software (e.g. GNU/FSF), open source
and Linux.
The meeting is at Nokia in Irving, near Highway 114 and MacArthur. See
<http://www.ntlug.org> for exact directions to the particular building on
the campus.
Schedule:
9 am - The Linux Install Project (may run until noon)
10 am - Ray Foley, Beginners Group
11 am - Chris Cox, The Puppet Show
12 noon - ITEC Prep
