[NTLUG:Discuss] upgrade kernel only?

Unfortunately, going from 2036 to 2216 isnt that easy. To be able to
use the newer 22 kernels, you have to upgrade several parts of the
system (libararies, etc). I would recommend backing up any config files
that you have, and doing a fresh install. OTOH, it sounds like you have
a stable system, so the hassle of updating may not be worth the
performance increase on a machine that is depended upon in a production
environment. Of course, you could always build a new machine and
replace the older one with it without any downtime (presuming you have
the resources to do that).
