I was referring to the rpm.  Yes /dev/3dfx suid's, but it is also a placeholder
for the kernel module loader.   You have to recompile the modules for your
kernel version.  The module 3Dfx would be the place to put agp driver, like
agpgart, and I hope eventually they come together.

Quite honestly I thought the only reason to use /dev/3dfx was so you
could run the game as non-root?
